ABOUT PERFOMANCE
Russian Philharmonic Moscow city symphony orchestra is one of the most noted orchestra
in the capital of Russia.
Its programs are popular among widest range of public – the one that was so accurately described by Theodor Adorno – from random listeners till experts of the classical musical tradition.
Russian Philharmonic thoroughly developed new programs and projects, including media and video installations meets a very important cultural mission requirement –
to keep up with the times and yet staying faithful to the art of music.
In different times the orchestra performed with such celebrities as Montserrat Caballe, Rolando Villason, Paata Burchuladze, Roberto Alagna, Jose Carreras, Jose Cura, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Kiri Te Kanawa, Boris Berezovsky, Nikolay Lugansky, Denis Matsuev, Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov
and many other talented artists.
Russian Philharmonic opened the III Mstislav Rostropovich International Festival at Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory with the performance of Shostakovich’s opera “Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk”.
Russian Philharmonic participated in different festivals in Europe – Austria, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Turkey, at Royal Festival Hall in London, in Oman and Japan.
New season orchestra tour proposal includes the choice of the two multimedia projects
«The Rite of Spring» by Igor Stravinsky and «Scheherazade» by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov
with restored sketches originally created by Nikolay Roerich and Leon Bakst for the famous Diaghilev’s Saisons Russes in Paris at the beginning of the XX century.
Second part of the concert is presented by S. Rachmaninoff piano concerns # 3 and 4 with Alexander Sinchuk.
