With most beloved French stars of the world
GERARD DEPARDIEU and FANNY ARDANT
In play by novella of A.R.Gurney (Pulitzer Prize drama)
They will meet at last, to leave each other for ever.

LOVE LETTERS

They are Friends or Lovers?
Would writing be a falsification of oneself?
Play is on French language with translation on Russian or further local language.

“Love Letters” is a theatrical work by A. R. Gurney,
Pulitzer Prize drama for the theater, translated into over 30 languages.

It is centered on two characters,
Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III, from their 8s to 60s,
who sit each and every one at their own table, as in some epistolary novels,
for over 50 years, write tickets, letters and postcards telling hopes, ambitions, the dreams,
the disappointments, the victories, the losses of two lives lived separately.

Andrew will be elected senator while Melissa will never become an artist and eventually
she will take away her life.
From childhood to death, we follow the path of the two lovers who will never live together.
She is rich, frivolous and suffers from depression.

He is a poor man, a great worker, who will do it even though he is afflicted by doubts and
lack of confidence in himself.
The two exchanged letters since they went to school.
He is crazy about her, while she likes to take it around even if she will prove
to him that she cannot be without him.
They will never be together, as well as many before and after them.

The success of this epistolar exchange is due to the failure that everyone has experienced at
least once, the most intimate memories that arouse, to the incarnation of our actors'
reflection on stage by the actors. But it does not matter. The audience knows it's just
an excuse to see these two actors facing each other.
They are the ones who induce us to come to the theater,
and we admire more than the text itself.

The bumps of life, the successes, the dead ends are recounted at the expense
of fortuitous events but especially at the rhythm of the seasons and,
almost without forgetting, at the rendezvous of each new year immersed
in the procession of family celebrations.

Gerard Depardieu and Fanny Ardant presently are greatest French actors
and the most beautiful proof,
they gives us on stage precisely, in “Love letters”.
